Top Ten: Ja Rule Songs of All Time

Before 50 Cent ran Ja Rule’s name through the mud he was one of the most popular artists in music. Ja’s street cred was challenged by 50 Cent as well as his singing on the chorus of songs. The funny thing about 50 Cent making fun of Ja Rule singing in his songs is that 50 Cent started to sing in his songs. Even though no one was a Ja Rule fan after his beef with 50 you can’t help but think years later Ja Rule was on a bevy of hot tracks. He was responsible for Ashanti and Jennifer Lopez (J. Lo) blowing up. His acting career was terrible but he was one of the first rappers to have a acting career. Ja Rule’s past couple years haven’t been the best. He was sentenced to 28 months in prison for tax evasion and his album Pain is Love 2 was pushed back yet again to January 17th. Nevertheless Ja Rule was a hit maker, here are his top ten songs of all time.
#10 Ashanti Feat. Ja Rule – Put It On Me
Ja Rule immediately brings some intense energy to this song. Ashanti and Ja Rule perfect on this song. Ja kills his verse and he goes back and forth with Ashanti on the hook.
#9 Fat Joe Feat. Ja Rule & Ashanti – What’s Luv
Ja Rule is a king on the hooks. His voice is so distinct. He is like a less intimidating DMX. Once again he goes back and forth with Ashanti on the hook. The chemistry between them is great you can’t help but think Nelly got Ja’s sloppy seconds.
#8 Jennifer Lopez Feat. Ja Rule – Ain’t It Funny (Remix)
IT MUST BE THE ASS.” You can’t help but think those 5 words made J.Lo’s backside the original great ass before Kim Kardashian.
#7 Ja Rule Feat. Jennifer Lopez – I’m Real
Ja Rule has great chemisty with the ladies that he collaborates that is no different on “I’m Real.” The great part of any Ja Rule collaboration is that he goes back and forth with Jenny From the Block.
#6 Ja Rule – Livin’ It Up
Life is good when this song comes on. When Ja was rapping like this there was no way that he would ever fall from the top of the rap game.
#5 Ja Rule Feat. Ashanti – Mesmerize
This is song that 50 Cent used to make fun of Ja Rule during their beef but this song is fire. I would be singing too if Ashanti looked like a sexy cat woman in the music video too.
#4 Ja Rule Feat. R. Kelly & Ashanti – Wonderful
By far this song was Ja Rule’s biggest boss (Rick Ross voice) moment. R. Kelly on the hook just takes this song to the next level. Ja killed it on “Wonderful.”
#3 Ja Rule Feat. Ashanti – Always on Time
The best collaboration between Ashanti and Ja Rule. These two were one of the best duo’s of all time. I wish there was a entire album of Ashanti and Ja Rule collaborations. If Ja Rule wants to make a comeback when he gets out of prison he needs to collaborate with Ashanti.
#2 Ja Rule Feat. Fat Joe & Jadakiss – New York
Gritty and street, “New York” was Ja Rule’s message that his influence on New York hip-hop was huge. For one of the last great rappers from New York Ja Rule certainly killed it.
#1 Ja Rule Feat. Mary J. Blige – Rainy Dayz
Mary J. Blige, the queen, on a Ja Rule song? Yes. There is no way that this song can’t be in the number one slot. Mary kills it on the hook and Ja’s emotion is definitely shown through the entire song. Perfection.
